Our Story

A spiritual farm rooted in the vision of Śrīla Prabhupāda.

New Madhuvan is a Krishna conscious farm community set on 60 decares of land — a single sanctuary that holds the temple, the goshala, the gardens and the Vrajaloka eco-village. It lies deep in the Bulgarian countryside, wrapped in nature and far from the noise of the city.

Inspired by His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Śrīla Prabhupāda, Founder-Ācārya of ISKCON, the community brings together cow protection, agriculture, devotional service, spiritual education and a natural way of life centered on Krishna — the timeless principle of simple living and high thinking.

Our guiding principle

Simple Living,High Thinking.

Simple living means choosing a natural, balanced way of life that allows us to care for the earth, the cows, our community and our spiritual purpose.

High thinking means keeping Krishna at the center of everything — through service, study, prayer, chanting and compassionate relationships with all living beings.

Simple living, high thinking, that is our policy, and as long as Kṛṣṇa remains in the center of all these activities, then you are actually in Vṛndāvana.

01 · Cow Protection

Every cow deserves care, shelter and lifelong protection.

The cow is honoured as a mother — she gives nourishment and asks only to be protected in return.

Cow protection is one of the central services of New Madhuvan. The cows are not treated as production units — they are cared for as living beings who deserve safety, affection and full lifelong protection.

Their milk is used respectfully in the service of Krishna and the community, while their presence helps create a peaceful, natural and compassionate way of life.

02 · Agriculture

Food cultivated with care, offered with love.

New Madhuvan grows a variety of fruits, vegetables and other plant foods on the farm, and receives milk and dairy from the protected cows.

The long-term vision is greater self-sufficiency — food grown with devotion, offered to Krishna, and shared as prasādam with the community and guests.

03 · Daily Program

A day shaped by service and remembrance of Krishna.

From the first light of dawn until the evening rest, life at New Madhuvan is a continuous flow of sādhana, sevā and community. Guests are welcome to take part in any part of the day.

View the Daily Program
  1. 01

    Morning sādhana

The day begins before sunrise with maṅgala-ārati, japa meditation, Tulasī-ārati, Guru-pūjā and a class from the Śrīmad-Bhāgavatam — the spiritual foundation of everything we do.

  2. 02

    Sevā across the farm

After morning prasādam, the community shares practical service: caring for the cows in the goshala, working in the gardens and greenhouses, kitchen preparations, temple cleaning, construction and maintenance.

  3. 03

    Study, seminars and outreach

The afternoon is filled with deeper study of Śrīla Prabhupāda's books, philosophy seminars, Sanskrit, book distribution and harināma in nearby villages or the Burgas outreach.

  4. 04

    Evening ārati and kīrtan

As the sun sets, we gather for Sandhyā-ārati, followed by Śrī Gaura-ārati — singing Śrīla Bhaktivinoda Ṭhākura's 'Jaya Jaya Gorācāṅder Ārati' — and full community kīrtan.

  5. 05

    Evening prasādam and rest

The day closes with light prasādam, warm association and quiet reading, before the community retires early to be ready for maṅgala-ārati again before dawn.

04 · Vrajaloka

A spiritual eco-village taking shape.

Vrajaloka is a growing eco-village within New Madhuvan — a quiet area of orchards, gardens and a small stream, where devotees will live in harmony with nature and the land.

Plans include devotee houses, gathering spaces and infrastructure that supports a natural, Krishna-centered way of life.

Wherever there is Kṛṣṇa, the master of all mystics, and wherever there is Arjuna, the supreme archer, there will also certainly be opulence, victory, extraordinary power and morality.

05 · The New Temple

Building a new home for Krishna.

A significantly larger temple is being planned as the spiritual heart of the Vrajaloka eco-village — a place where devotees, guests and the wider community can gather for daily worship, festivals and spiritual education.

The project will grow step by step, supported by the service and generosity of devotees around the world.

For one who builds a temple for Kṛṣṇa, the results are a thousand times greater than for one who performs sacrifices.

06 · Burgas Outreach

Sharing Krishna consciousness in the city.

Alongside life on the farm, the community holds regular kīrtans, classes, book distribution and meetings with new friends in the city of Burgas.

The outreach is a bridge between the quiet of the countryside and the search of the modern city — an invitation to hear about Krishna and share in the joy of the holy names.

In this age of quarrel and hypocrisy the only means of deliverance is the chanting of the holy names of the Lord. There is no other way. There is no other way. There is no other way.
