Kīrtan, a class from Bhagavad-gītā and a full sattvic feast — open to everyone.

Gaura-Pūrṇimā

Appearance day of Śrī Caitanya Mahāprabhu — all-day kīrtan and a great feast.

Rāma-navamī

Appearance of Lord Rāmacandra — fasting until sunset, then celebration.

Janmāṣṭamī

The appearance day of Śrī Kṛṣṇa — the central festival of the year.

Rādhāṣṭamī

Appearance of Śrīmatī Rādhārāṇī — flowers, kīrtan and sweet offerings.

Govardhana-pūjā

A mountain of sanctified prasādam offered to Śrī Giri-Govardhana.

The most sacred month — daily lamp offerings, extra kīrtan and readings from the Bhāgavatam.

What to know before you come

Guest accommodation

Simple guest rooms are available during festivals and retreats — please write in advance so we can prepare a place for you.

Prasādam & meals

All meals during events are freshly cooked sattvic prasādam, first offered to the Deities.

Language

Classes are usually offered in English and Bulgarian; some visiting teachers may present in Russian.

Volunteer sevā

Kitchen, decoration, cow care, kīrtan and reception — sevā is one of the most joyful ways to attend.

Location

New Madhuvan is located in the countryside near Burgas, on the Bulgarian Black Sea coast — set deep in nature, far from the city. Detailed directions, transfers from Burgas and airport pick-ups for retreat guests can be arranged in advance.
